Vacation Bible School Day Camp |

Keeping the Earth” was the theme for the Vacation Bible School Day Camp this year. American Lutheran Central United Methodist held a joint for the fourth straight year from July to the 22nd. Central UMC hosted year, beginning a kick-off event on Sunday evening to introduce the counselors songs, games, and rootbeer floats. Eight counselors from Lutheran Outdoors NeSoDak Bible Camp led the Camp for 55 children in grades 1-5 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. every day. Pastor Janine and Kristi Liebe were the coordinators of the program and the counselors were Cody Swanson (Langford, Dustin Christianson (Arlington, SD), Rachel Sieh (Florence, SD), Alison Scheevel Preston, MN), Sarah Webb (Spirit Lake, Jason Um (Washington, DC), Kari Nelson (Lake Preston, SD), and Hanna Werling (Milbank, SD). The children all
participated in a service project during the week, packing over one thousand meals Kids Against Hunger at the packing station on the south side of town. These meals will go to feed hungry families in Haiti. Nancy Webb and Kristi Liebe oversaw the Pre-school VBS for 35
children ages three to kindergarten, which met every day from 9 a.m. to noon. The church was a wonderful place to be as the Holy Spirit filled over a hundred children, counselors and helpers every day during worship, music, Bible study, games, crafts, and meals! We thank God for all the children who attended VBS this year, and for all the teachers, snack coordinators and kitchen helpers, arts and crafts helpers, and everyone who hosted the counselors and helped in any way to make this VBS a great, faith building experience!
