Mission Action: September finishes the School Kits. Supplies still needed are spiral notebooks and rulers. Our mission for October is the Food Pantry. We are asked to bring non-food items (ex: paper products, personal care items, and cleaning supplies and products). We can also use more towels for the other kits coming after Christmas.
This year we are discontinuing the Prison Fellowship Tree and replacing it with a local project. More details later.
Bible Study: Our next circle meeting will be on Tuesday, October 20, 2009. Our new study is called “One For All: Experiencing the Exclusive Claim of Christ” by Rev. Steve King. It is a nine month session and the suggestive donation cost will be $2.50 per person.
Grace Circle is listed to bring cookies to either nursing home for the
month of October. Remember your special friends and if possible with a visit. Eighteen members from American Lutheran were present for the Quilt Auction at Joy Ranch August 30th. Beautiful weather drew a nice crowd. Our two quilts donated brought in $700 for a total of $29,000 for the auction.
The October General meeting will be October 6, at 7 p.m. Our guest
speaker will be Audrey Youngren on quilts and the Bible. Grace and Glory will share hostess duty while Love has decorations, Sunrise with Music, Peace with the special program and Joy for devotions. Election of officers will be at that meeting.
