"Love to Serve" Theme of 2009 Vacation Bible School Day Camp |

“Love to Serve” was the theme for the Vacation Bible School Day Camp this year. American Lutheran and Central United Methodist held a joint VBS for the third straight year from July 5th to the 9th.
ALC hosted a kick-off event on Sunday evening to introduce the counselors with songs, games, and ‘smores. Eight counselors from NeSoDak Bible Camp led the Day Camp for about 70 children in grades 1-5 from 9a.m. to 3p.m. every day. Mike Haddican was the coordinator of the program and the counselors were Culynn Curtis (Mitchell SD), Emma Werling (Milbank SD), Cody Swanson Langford SD), Hannah Drewes (Rock Rapids IA), Tiffany Buehner (Brandon SD), Caitlin Iverson (Madison SD), Sanessa Lindemann (Aberdeen SD) and Kaid Knox (Pierre SD).
Sheila Bien, Kristi Liebe and Janel Sandvig oversaw the Pre-school VBS for 45 children ages three to kindergarten, which met every day from 9a.m. to noon. The church was a wonderful place to be as the
Holy Spirit filled almost two hundred children, counselors, and helpers every day during worship, music, Bible study, games, crafts, and meals! We thank God for all the children who attended VBS this year, and for all the teachers, snack coordinators and kitchen helpers, arts and crafts helpers, and everyone who hosted the counselors and helped in any way to make this VBS a great, faith building experience! |
