School is out so summer is officially here. Enjoy! I know ours is
becoming busy and that’s the way I like it. Our project for the months of April, May, and June will be the Midwife Kits. Items needed are: one 36” square muslin or sheeting (no hemming necessary), one regular size bath towel, one wash cloth, two cordties-8” lengths of selvage or 1/4” twill tape, one bath-size bar of Ivory soap, one razor
blade (single edge, safety, as from home improvement store), one newborn stocking cap, one baby, cotton or flannel, short-sleeved shirt/kimono, one receiving blanket, one pair plastic or latex exam gloves — clean, not sterile, not kitchen gloves. Check with your doctor or dentist. The items can be places in the baskets by the WELCA board in the narthex. Bath towels are desperately needed. The Mission Action Committee met this week and assemble 49 Aids-Hospice Kits and collected $145.00 for shipping and vitamins. Thanks ladies for your support of this needy project.
Our next circle meeting will be on Tuesday, June 16, 2009 and July 21, 2009. We are studying for the next three months a Bible study called “In God’s Time”. This is not the study found in your LutheranWoman magazine. Copies are in your circle mailbox. Joy Circle is listed to bring cookies to either nursing home for the month of June and Love Circle for the month of July. Remember your special friends.
We received feedback from Circles on the Prayer Retreat at Blue Cloud Abbey on June 2nd. We are planning it for the first Tuesday in June.We are going to the Blue Cloud Abbey and not Joy Ranch. We are not going to Joy Ranch because of heavy construction there this
summer and they recommended that we wait another year. Sign-up sheet
