Quilting News
: THANK You all who have responded to our pleas for sheets,
mattress pads, sheet blankets, blankets bed spreads, etc. We are overwhelmed! These are used for liners, or sent as is if blankets are good enough.We are always looking for solid color material for backs –(not stretchy or silky). Prints to are welcomed.
Quilt Auction – Lutheran Outdoors Bible Camp fundraiser is set for Sunday, August 29th at 2 p.m. at Joy Ranch, NW of Watertown. We will have 2 quilts to share. Heidi Christenson and Lois Grimm have each made a beautiful top – now put together and machine quilted. (Rhonda
Thiele machine quilted Lois’s quilt). We hope to display them in the
Narthex before the auction. Plan to drive over and view the many quilts, wall hangings, baby quilts, etc. and perhaps purchase one to help out our 5 Bible Camps.

: Bless the gardeners of American Lutheran
Our gardeners are providing a wonderful assortment of fruits and vegetables for our produce table. Our members are walking away with every last item, which would indicate that an even greater volume of produce would be welcomed! When we stop to think about the current economic situation, there is no doubt about the help that your donation for the Grant County food pantry is going to provide for many in our community. This is a win-win situation. We are enjoying
fresh produce and someone else is also seeing food on their table through our contribution. As a consumer, prayerfully consider what your response should be. Thanks to all who are participating in
this project. |

Bible Study

Community Bible Study
: Community Bible Study is open for enrollment for fall classes held
on Monday nights during the school year. Classes will start on Sept. 20th. We encourage you to enroll with CBS for this in-depth study of Revelations by Sept. 6, 2010.
CBS is an international Bible study and is open to every one of all

Music News and Opportunities
: MEN WHO ENJOY SINGING: A Men’s Chorus is being organized to sing on Sunday, August 29. We will rehearse the previous 2 Sundays, August 15 and 22 at 10:30 a.m. in the choir room. Hope to see you there.

On July 14th, the Church Council was presented with a petition
signed by 170 members of this congregation
that called for a special congregational meeting for the
purpose of holding a second 1st vote seeking congregational
approval to terminate its relationship with the ELCA.

Wednesday Worship
: Join us every Wednesday night for prayer time beginning this Wed May 26 at 6:30 p.m. One member has encouraged the congregation to pray in this way, “Please pray daily for our American Lutheran Church as we contemplate and vote on this very important issue with the ELCA. Please pray for the gift of the Holy Spirit and that God’s Will be done. Ask Him to lead us and give us His guidance. Pray that He will not forsake us but that He will bless us. May we also be a blessing to
our Lord”. |

| Summer Worship Services
: Summer worship begins on Sunday, May 23. We return to our Summer Schedule with ONE service at 9:00 a.m. Coffee fellowship follows worship around 10 a.m.! The service will be broadcast on KMSD at 9 a.m. and the TV broadcast on Channel One will remain at the regular time of Thursdays at 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. The last Wednesday night worship will be on May 26th and will start again September 8th. |
